hey guys im having some intermittent trouble with my XR6T 2005 MK11 auto ,

firstly back ground on the car , 42 lb injectors

bigger in tank pump

big nizpro cooler and 3 inch piping

2.5 inch hot side

4 inch Plazmaman turbo side intake

4 inch dump 4 inch cat to twin 2.5 to the tail

been tuned

Atomic valve springs

which is all kind of irrelevant seeing that this happened before any of this was done to the car

so what the problem is

on startup in the morning taking it for a spin its running smooth and rich with heaps of power it feels magnifecent to drive , then after a little while (say 10 minutes) as it settles into operating temperature the AFR gauge ( narrowband) , yes people I know its only narrowband and cant give a definitive gauge of the actual AFR , but why I use this as a reference is , watching the gauge when its running beautiful the gauge reads rich , when its erratic and all over the place is when it runs badly, it can run like this for a undefined time , so im not sinking the boot in . then when it comes good again it goes like a rocket ship again , but sometimes it doesnt come good again that day , until I start it the next day and its back to normal until it gets hot again ( normal operating temp )

- I thought it may have been an O2 sensor so I replaced that , still no improvement

- Replaced intake and throttlebody gaskets

- this happened before and after tuning and nothing was found to be amiss during the tuning

- the car sometimes coughs badly but only when turning right (leading a mate to point me in the direction of the BCM)

- has new plugs and coils

I'm really drawing a blank with this one, and I dont wanna start replacing everything until it stops , who can afford that?

any help with this will be appreciated thanks

-

Probably a stupid suggestion, but as it's intermittent and only once warm/hot - see if it ties in with the thermo's kicking in. Maybe the (slightly) extra load is highlighting a battery or other elec issue.

Wouldn't come up at the tuner's either - takes more than a dyno run to kick the thermo's off

cheers mate , but no it doesnt seem to happen with the cutting in and out of the thermo's

its much less intermittent than that but thanks anyways
