I may be wrong, but I wouldn't have thought that valves/springs would have been a consumable.

Seriously though - work with your tuner and get the whole shebang decided upon before you spend (any/more) money.

Asking and research is great, but you still seem at the choppy/changey part of the build.

Work out where you want to end up - then work out the best way to get there.

And when you make the decision - do it - with no regrets and no second guessing.

Personally - I wouldn't even bother doing the valves myself, let alone worry about the tool to do it. Have got more things to worry about than, in 6 months time, trying to get the tuner to fix something that wasn't his issue to start with. Far too many variables in a build to add my own flavour to the broth.

just waiting on Jamie to get back to me with the parts list . and then I can start . still on a budget so working out what turbo would be good for a manual car so I do not have to much lag . it is half the fun doing it yourself mate , I used to get most of the work done by mechanics . they are only human , so I can do it also . ok there are tricks of the trade in every job . but I will give it a go . I can save a lot of money doing the basics my self . I actually like working on my car .it is great fun . maybe you should try it ,its not that hard .best of all it is rewarding in the end

No worries Mick - just didn't think that was the way he was headed with his car/build.

edit: OT, but while you're there - your signature logo pic has expired

? what have I chopped and changed .sorry mate I have not bought a thing . I have only listened to peoples comments ,which are great info by the way . I have done what everyone said buy a fg long engine . then they said the 6 speed would be the go instead of the BTR ,so I listened . I am just trying to get the best for my money .try asking a tuner to give you information about building a fast car ,they will tell you hand over the cash and we will do it for you .I have not got that sort of money available .you do not get much for $17000-$20000 if a performance shop has to do all the work . sorry the ute is only a toy for the weekend .so I am building it for powercruise events and that sort of thing .,may even take it on the track every now and then to lake side race way and QLD track for some fun .
