Gearbox is pretty simple conversion really, that's reasonable for a box with 6000ks on it I would say. Your going to need tail shaft(modify yours to suit seeing as its already built or sell it), pedals cross member, definitely a clutch, one of the manual guys will have to recommended a clutch im not sure what best for your desired power level, malwood option 3? Something from NPC?

Probably a better option seeing as you want to tow still and have streetability. Otherwise t400 if u just want to race it

I think 5700 for a complete fg donk including turbo/manifolds and 6spd manual all with 6000ks on it is pretty damn good

just e mailed dominello and he said that his BTR handle 500 rwkw with ease .he guarantees them for 12 month unlimited klm . just spoke to luke 182 and he said that it would be a lot nicer to my drive train to stick with the auto. also traction would be better with a auto (215 60 16 c light truck tyres will struggle with it ) . might be the cheaper option as well ,or I might start blowing my budget again .

might go the E85 as well as I have to get new injectors to suit the fg engine (1500 bosh ) the ba 1000 bosh may not fit the fg fuel rail

so I might spend big on the fuel supply .and might get a new turbo core and flapper mod of MTA turbos to suit my goal . it will be a lot easier to get 450 kw with E85 and kinder on the engine at powercruise events

what are your thoughts on that ?

Gearbox Pros & Cons as I see it, listed in order of preference ;

T56 manual:

this would be my pick cause I'm a manual guy.

All the bits and pieces are readily available on eBay.

They are slower BUT much more FUN!

Your low diff ratio (Gunna) would make 1st gear almost useless.

Buy the time you factor all the bits and pieces in as well as a good clutch it'll be pricey but worth it.

Easy to repair and maintain.

ZF 6 speed;

Fantastic auto, best I've ever used.

You may as well get a "built box" to be safe.

They sound like their a drama with all the computer sh!t to install.

It's also going to be expensive but I think probably worth the hassle.

Turbo 400;

Their heavy , power sapping BUT reliable.

Plus you'll have too modify sh!t, shifter, tail shaft etc.

Easy to maintain and repair.

Modified 4 speed auto;

From what I've read this would be my least favourite choice.

Your spending a lot of coin on something that may only barely be able to cope and they sound like a ticking time bomb.

Also dose'nt leave much room for further mods.

Zf really isn't an option at this stage, had he of used a bf turbo donor during the original conversion it would be. In fact it's such a massive job on a ba you may as well buy a bf/fg, for the reasons mentioned above the manual would be my choice, you won't ever be faster than a good auto but you will get close with practice.

I feel the same as capt about the btr and I think "will handle 500rwkw with ease" is bullsh*t

DTM automatics also rate there BTR for 500 rwkw ?

the manual gear box is also not rated over 800 nm ,so would it really handle the power of over 1000 nm ? and 450 kw

worked out some prices ,approximately all the parts I need total of $5300 . by the time I get a clutch kit $2000 etc

Yeah they seem to take the abuse, most complaints are rollover noise and they aren't the slickest box but there are shifters available that will help with that somewhat.

Though stripes did genuinely seem to have a problem with a low k box not wanting to go into 2nd in his gt...

Honestly mate im not sure which way you should go with the box, apparently a t400 is nearly 10k once its all said and done...?
