So here I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my new car.....today I am asked to go to the US for training for 2 - 3 weeks starting 25th March. The wife is already planning to take the car away while I'm gone.

It'll only be 4 odd weeks old, barely run in. She's a real lead foot too.

I'll have to fit the baby seat, and the booster seat in it.....man I can just see the baby puke stains and the food/drink spilled all over the place.....She'll probably park it at the safeway and christen it with a trolley or something too...:cry:

Mate where's the problem? You don't let her drive your old car so why would you let her near your new one?

PS If you do let her drive your old car then you have only yourself to blame for your predicament - my wife is allowed to drive the vacuum and the lawn mower but not MY car - she has her own car in which to grapple with the shopping trolleys and touch parkers.

a car is a car! let her drive it, that's what cars are for. Sure the carpark dings and the like are frustrating but whats the point of having a nice car and not using it? you have spent alot of money on it just to have it sit in the garage!

I have to say mmy wife drives my car. It is just not worth the grief of trying to keep her away from it. Anything for a peaceful life. Oh I do trust her as well.

Let her drive the car, like some one said above it would be a damn waste for the car to sit in the garage.

If she dings it, you have insurance and divorce lawyers. :)

I dont have any choice. Considering she'll be paying for exactly half the car, I dont think I have the right to keep it away from her!

Luckily she's a great driver and I trust her completely. It’s all the other drivers on the road that have me worried

Richdave,

I always get my wife to run in each new car for me. Similar to you I am going overseas for a few weeks for training and she will drive it while Im away.

She is a careful driver. Also dosen't have to worry about the size of her *beep*, so is not threatened if someone beates her off the lights. Unlike me.

She parks miles away in the far corner of the mall carpark, away from trollies and other car doors.

As for the baby spew, that's why you get the hose out leather interior.

Anyway I had a look at your web page, and your wife is way too good looking  to be married to you, so there has to be some fringe benefits. (no offence intended, she is very pretty though)
