on Friday finally made it to the 300 club

what started with an el xr8 with some engine work, a drive home from work getting absolutely toasted by an fg xr6 turbo, making me jump ship from a v8 to a boosted 6

with a growing family and the need for a bigger more reliable car and just after having my ass handed to me, I stumbled across this xr50 turbo, wifes car was already sorted with a kluger (now I have her into a new territory) and a promise to keep it stock.. famous last words

first thing was throw in the 3 baby seats required

car already had pedders coilovers (which I hated)

car had the wrong rims on it, had snow flakes instead of the 50th anniversary ones so straight away lined up a set of fpv twist in immac condition

then the power bug started to hit

k&n panel

rapid cooler kit

xforce 4" dump and cat still standard cat back

id1000s

flapper and actuator

and a tune

we encountered a small problem turbo was running out of puff and not holding 15psi once we hit over 4500rpm would drop to 10psi

step 2 started, got turbo side and battery relocate and a mate had a f6 turbo sitting around, only problem was I was that busy I never got around to fitting it..

the turbo gods were not happy with my laziness and just before Christmas they forced my hand by making my standard turbo cark it

on my holidays ripped it off, the f6 turbo my mate gave me ended up being from a b series, fitted my rear housing and actuator spun the cover around, fitted up the relocate, turbo side and an earls line, also got rid of the coil overs from some shock and king springs so much comfier, the pedders coilovers just kept popping shock

last Friday it went to joe at cms, she made a nice 345 at 15psi, was a ripper hot day in Sydney as well

now for the next step, get a 4" cat back, e85 set up and some valve springs

left the dyno sheet at cms,

Well done. Yáll gotta be very happy with 345 at the tyres through stock mufflers - - - - I am beeting there is no drone, cabin roar, drumming harmonics at 95 - 100km/hr, pipes banging on the diff cradle or kids in the back seat with headaches. Good luck with the next steps.
