I've just serviced two with Nulon Full SYN ATF. I put one bottle of G60 in as per Nulon's recommendation. Both cars drive perfectly after one tank of fuel (learn time), both cars modified.

I bought a Wesfil filter kit (alloy pan) and 20L drum from Bursons.

So gulf the best stuff to use? Or factory ZF oil?

I think that, strictly speaking, the ZF oil is the "right" stuff.

However it is very expensive.

When I got my car, other people were saying that the gulf western oil works just fine (and the label specifically says it works in the ZF), so I gave it a go, and it has been fine for me.

I suspect that no one on the forum has the skills to properly measure the difference between performance (particularly when considering all the different criteria of "oil performance") of one oil over the other..

I guess it depends on the definition of "best" that you want to use.

Many can argue the definition of Correct and Compatible and there can only be one Correct one which is ZF Lifeguard 6 because that's what the box was tested with and engineered to work with, if going aftermarket I would use the one that has been on the market for longest because there is history of fluids being marked as "OK" for ZF then retracted by manufacturer only when damage is noticed.
