Im struggling to find a guide to install an alpine head unit into my mk1 BA falcon. Ive found these harness adapters

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Alpine-to-Ford-Falcon-Single-DIN-plug-play-Bluetooth-USB-IPOD-unit-Install-Kit-/200908837455

But they just run the audio through the auxilary input in the fusebox and out to speakers which is not what I want. Im looking to do a set up where the head unit is only connected to the Power, Ignition, and Ground, then sends the signal via RCA's to my amps, and then to the speakers. Im not interested in using the steering wheel volume controls or anything like that. Basically I just need to know where I can splice in to Power Ground Ignition and Remote somewhere in the dash loom to run the head unit. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Use the aux connector behind the fuse box. It has power/acc and earth. It's a 5amp circuit but if you are only running preout its fine. The harness in the link you posted does exactly this.

If you don't already have a facia the one you linked with the power harness isn't a bad deal. Maybe email the seller and see if he will supply facia/power harness only?

Also re steering wheel controls They are worth doing and super easy with one of these

so ill just wire up the head unit as per instructions on the kit, and just use the pre outs, and the steering wheel controls will work?

You'll need the axxess unit for the controls to work. If you go ahead with it pinch power and earth from the same plug.

There's a red wire with a green trace under the column. That's the can bus wire for the steering wheel controls. Tap that and plug the unit in and program it and your done. I run an alpine cde154ebt in my bf with this set up and rate it highly.

We won't talk about running wiring into the doors..

I was wondering what wire colour you used from the aswc-1 unit. I hooked it up using the white/green (module pin2) to the red/white under the column. Module detected correct head unit brand. Just programming it is a PITA.

Yep sure did! Multiple resets untill I saw that. Did you use the same colour wire as I did. Falcon was not in the list of compatible vehicles. It still registered the button pids though.
