So car threw up an ABS/DSC Fault last night.

This is the second time this has happened.

As a result the DSC can't be turned off or on.

FG G6ET 2011, on 20" running 35 front, 30 rear profile tyres.

History; 6-8months ago.

The first time it threw the fault was just after picking car up from having valve springs done.

I was just cruising and come to stop at lights, car had stopped completely for 5-10sec when fault come up.

Pulled over switched off car, fault cleared.

Last night I was having a bit of fun and was doing some firm braking.

The fault come up while cruising (no braking), so cruised along pulled over and turned car off to reset.

The code on cluster had a 2 in brackets, I take it this means twice the fault has be detected.

The fault cleared but after taking off I tried to turn the DSC on/off, but nothing.

Can someone point me to link on where to find ABS sensors?

Or provide any help or info.

Was hoping it might be something as simple as cleaning ABS sensors.

Cheers

see....this is what happens when you have unplanned night cruises!!!!! :P hahaha

with my expert knowledge I can tell you fark all

could be faulty sensor or just needs cleaning?

I was gunna suggest the wiring for brake lights (I.e. when I put these sh*tty aftermarket lights in, the wiring threw up the DSC code) - but that code stayed on all the time; where yours looks like it disappears after a while? Mine had the error all the time - until I changed back. Not sure if I read that blown light bulbs can cause it as well?

but yeah....NFI, just thought I would contribute nothing :)

hopefully some eggspurts on here have some recommendations ...... Luke *cough cough*

I got that once in a carpark in the rain. Full lock turning very slowly and it came on and I couldn't turn dsc back on.

I just wiggled every electrical connector I could see to do with the brakes in engine bay and around wheels and it started working again next time I started her up. I think maybe water got in a connection or something? No idea what it actually was but it hasn't happened since

Have seen this problem before, it was diagnosed as a faulty brake pedal sensor switch. Also check all of your brake lights. But apparently it can be a lot of things setting this off. Abs sensors on the wheels, they sit on what looks like a cog near the hub.

Far out Mick, we should have connected Torque on my mobile phone to your odb port to do a scan. Forgot to do it.

Soz, the last time I had something like this, I took it to ford and they replaced the switch on the brake pedal.

The second time it happened, they figured out that the mxbluetooth device connected to the odb port was the cause and they got it right.

If I connect the torque application to the car before starting her up, I get the dsc error on the dash.

I have to start the car first and then connect torque. I am pretty aure you do not have anything connected to your odb.

Right?

You fly out tomorrow right?

Those brake pedal switches are cheap, only $20 from Ford if I recall correctly. Those devices that plug into the OBD ports can be hit and miss, I have a lot of issues with them on Mondeo's once the can bus system detects anything foreign on the circuit it sh*ts itself and starts behaving erratically.

Luke, I am not going to argue with you about that.

I did not have my tablet with me, otherwise I would have used that.
