I've had two dealers now both tell me that the turbos got bigger brakes (bigger then original but still slightly smaller then premium) in the form of larger calipers and better pads...

any truth in that?

also anyone whose opted not to fit premium brakes to Dec 03 onwards cars, your experiences?

Cheers,

Matt

anyone from dec onwards prolly won't have experienced brake shudder yet most likely. ours was built on the 29th of oct and we still have had no probs.

I asked the salesman at the Brisbane motorshow today - "Can Ii buy a Territory just like that one on display? He said "Sure it will be available in July"

It had no doors on it.........

Typical sales BS. It is more likely that they have some fix for the brake shudder problem and so have turned a negative into a positive and called it an upgrade to the standard brakes!

thanks guys, I figured this would be the way so I took it with a grain of salt.

Big Mick has most likely hit the nail on the head too with the shudder issue.

I for one think there may be some truth in this story. I was told on thursday when getting my first shudder fixed that Oct 03 - cars have a different brake calliper than pre Oct 03 cars. I have a Sept 03 build and it has shudder and needed shims fitted. I was told that they cannot retrofit the 'new' system onto pre Sept cars, but this has to be crap. I cannot for the life of me understand why the shim fix was out in June-ish, but my Sept build car did not have them fitted?

Back to stories though, I would be willing to do some comparos with a post Oct build car if anyone on the Central Coast wants to meet up tomorrow or similar...

I'm sure GP said this too when we went for FMC/FPV tour.
