Ahh I see your problem. If I remember correctly I had a wiring diagram...not sure where it's gone, though...

So I had a look around and found that I don't have it anymore :( sorry mate.

I do remember something about tracing the dimmer wiring through the dash... but I can't remember any specifics, sorry.

they can't be THAT much different, can they? (knowing Ford, they don't spend too much money if they don't have to! haha)... maybe visit an auto-elec to see if they have a wiring diagram on hand you could look at for a few minutes...?

use the light circuit that comes with the 12v acc plug. I checked it this arvo and it does dim with the lights, but you'll still need a potentiometer to adjust the brightness.

Yeah I think I'm getting miss understood. I've already sourced the accessory wires that provide power only when the parkers/lights are on, I'm wanting to try and find the earth circuit that will allow me to adjust the BRIGHTNESS once they're on and also dim with the cluster dimming function.

That was all up until I only realised tonight that the autometer gauges use a shared earth for illumination and for the sensor power... D'OH!

I had mine initially wired into the factory dimmer circuit,my sparky done so not sure what he tapped into but can find out if anyone wants to know but anyway I found the gauge was still too bright because of it being led lit.

Demon there is a much easier spot to put the dimmer if you want it out of sight, inside the fuse holder there's a cavity at the top of it where it can be zip tied,it sits facing upward so all you have to do is reach up behind the top of the cavity with two fingers to adjust.
