I tried it with a "normal" (what's normal? LOL) x... looks far worse when the other letters don't match the font style... you really want to see it?

The normal X should work, as the F and T are all straight lines no curves.

I think I found one (a "normal x") that doesn't look shocking ...

or the previous one?

I still think the original is better as this "x" looks out of place in this font.

It does look slightly out of place but no harm in drawing your attention to that, bit of emphasis on the X is a good thing I reckon.

But then at a glance if you were looking at it the first time you probably wouldn't even notice.
