Absolutely .... But a fat person will burn more calories because even sitting doing nothing they have more body to maintain, more blood vessels to pump and more work for their heart and lungs which means more calories

There is no real way to calculate calories for a weight session.

The best thing you can do is sync HRM start weights then at end unsync HRM.

Fat doesn't take any calories to maintain but muscle does. So the more muscle you have the higher your metabolic rate is at rest.
