Sorry to hear your bad trot with the vivo's and the blistering from the HR edition sounds like your skin doesn't like the rubber band which can happen because on wrist HR monitors require you to have them up really tight to work properly.

What is your local HN store mate? I still have some older vivosmart HR editions in my store if wanting a new one. The screen issue you had is a batch issue, and my stock is a little older so hopefully no such issues.

Have you tried the Vivoactive? That's what I use and you can get it with the strap if needed instead of on wrist monitoring. Best tracker I have used, I'm about to go up to the Fenix 3! Let me know if want help with anything.

Yeah, my skin has had a few issues the last few months anyway...I've randomly started getting eczema from something, still no idea what...but annoying as f*ck having to douse myself in eczema cream twice a day and feeling greasy all the time as a result. So the fact that it reacted to having something tight on my wrist doesn't surprise me really.

My local HN store is Cannington in WA. The thing I liked about the Original Vivosmart was that it was discreet and I didn't have to have it up tight. I like wearing my analog watch on my left wrist all the time (except for when I play sport or go to the gym), so the original Vivosmart was good coz I could wear it on my right wrist and it didn't stand out like dogs balls. Appreciate the suggestions though mate, and the Vivoactive would be cool if I didn't ordinarily wear a watch...but I couldn't deal with two bulky watch sized items.

I have read a fair few examples of the screen issue with the Vivosmart on their forums and even in this thread...so I dunno, I think I've used it enough to get an idea how active I should be in order to not become a fat carnt again. I'll probably just hold out and see what the next wave or two of fitness bands bring and see if anything tickles my fancy.

Probably a good idea... f*ck drinking shakes cos you can't do that long term so once you start eating real food again it all comes back.. better to learn to eat properly to keep your weight down.

if you're a solid 80-85ish you should look fine though right? I look anorexic under 80 and I'm only 175cm. 84 kg I start to look like a pin head

They were great for me to shed the weight that I did and help build some confidence in myself, and to do it quickly. But yeah, not a long term solution and I want to not have to rely on that sort of stuff to maintain good health.

Yeah, I'm 176cm and start to look real slim under 80, generally...so I think between 80 and 85kg with a bit more muscle would be ideal for me.

No probs, if you see something give me a shout and I'll give you the low down if it's good or not, I get to try them all!! :)

Your right but, once you get up and move and remember to keep active the kilos will keep off. The whole fitness tracker thing is just to remind you too!

Talking bout weight if I was 80kgs I'd look dead!! Being 6"4 I'm aiming for 100kg I reckon..... 10kg to go! And there the hardest!!

3rd, here and this one won't record a session using hrm.

Fluctuating between 113 kg and 117 kg.

Would be nice to be below 108 kg then reassess from there.

Wow, seems everyone but me are having a bad run with there Vivosmart, I've got 2 Vivofits (kids) had both Vivosmarts (sold both, still working) 2 Vivoactive's (black sold, still have white one) and sold 5 combinations of above to family members and there all still fine. Plus 6 staff members who work for me use them and had no issues either. We see the screen or sync issues come into work and exchange out no worries but not as many as Fitbit's, we get back heaps of those everyday.

What phone are they synced to? All the above are synced to iPhones/iPads which push though the updates to the device which seem to fix most issues we see.

Too bad your over there in WA, could of got you a good deal :) but I hear there a good store. Yeah know what your saying about the size, they are decreet. If the watch packs it in check out the Fenix 3, really good smart watch (heavy and durable) with great apps for fitness not just walking etc. still next time you need to buy something let me know and I'll swing you the price to haggle too ;)

Everyone I know who has gotten a vivosmart has returned it at least once.

I'm on my third after a massive fight with rebel to get the first replaced without a receipt. Anyway I'm gonna retire it soon as the screen has gone to sh*t as well and pick up a huawei smart watch.

The Huawei is good, nice sapphire screen too. Just be careful, not waterproof. Which band you getting? I tried the all black version. Works great on android and iPhone. HR pretty accurate too.

Do you have anything to do with the Polar stuff? And if so, when are you guys getting the A360? I like the idea of that one, except for not having 24/7 HR monitoring (not necessarily such a bad thing though, as means you could have it fitting looser during the day) but I'm still thinking it might be a little bit big to wear as well as my watch. With respects to a nicely styled fitness band the Fossil Q Reveler looks really nice. You could easily wear that without looking like you're actually wearing a fitness tracker, although it only tracks steps, calories and distance and doesn't have the ability to connect to a HR strap or track activities...which is a bit of a shame.

Yeah, I'd say 100kg is a much more realistic weight for your height haha. Yep, last 5-10kgs are definitely the hardest!

I was syncing mine with my Galaxy S5, had SO MUCH drama with it, it never synced properly and always had to try sync a few times after saving an activity to actually get it to sync from the device to my phone.

No worries mate, that'll be great actually. Be good to know how much money I could talk them down :)

lol Im on my second Vivosmart, and my screen has just started mucking up. Looks like the screen is on a bit of an angle compared to the band, and very occasionally the LED display looses some pixels. Thinking about heading back to Garmin AUS at Eastern Creek and having a chat to them - but the unit still works as it should, its only cosmetic. The app still works fine, and it still vibrates at me when ive been sitting around too long.

Nitro, do you have a shopfront?
