Hi y'all. Long time no read.

I am looking to buy one of the above and the budget is around $50,000.

Which way would you go? A used F6 or a new, but slower XR6T or G6ET?

Also, what would be required to make the slower cars go as hard as the F6 and what would those mods cost?

Ballpark 10k in mods on the basic taxi. Wouldn't buy an FGX personally. If you're a Ford person then maybe look for a nice B series Rspec or F6. If not that brand loyal I wouldn't even bother with a Falcon tbh.

What bomber said, if you're not brand loyal then I'd spend $50k on something like this then bolt a Magnuson heartbeat supercharger on it:

If you're stuck on Ford then depends whether you prefer the luxury feel of the G6ET or the bodykit and bigger turbo of the F6.

Definitely go the FGX. All the problems with the FG have now been solved and they are nice build quality. Also if you're buying a USED F6 prepare that has been given a hard life regardless of km's.

What other car besides a G6e Turbo has the same luxury and power for around $50,000?

I would buy ford again.

After driving my mate VF HSV Maloo R8 340 his with VF Bogan special sedan and he just brought another VF SV6 the all sh*t on Ford.

The build quality feels better and just feels like a better car all round.

I'd go and test drive all.

Ive seen a FGX XR6 Turbo and ill say it look 5hit mate the back end looks all wrong, even the badgers are in the wrong spot.

Ive seen a FGX G6E Turbo in the show room and look alot better than the XR

FG F6 would be my pick out of the 3 youre looking at. Make sure its a MKII all touch screen and get one with a nice colour and wheel combo.

Good luck!!

All the problems have been solved you say? They've fitted a new/better IRS setup have they? They've fixed the tendency for the seat bases to crack? They've fixed how hit and miss the manual gearboxes are with respects to issues? They've fixed the fact that Ford don't seem to want to know about said issues and that they're "within spec"? They've fixed the tendency for the interior to rattle and creak? They've put the ICC screen in a better spot so you can actually use your sat nav when the sun's out? They've updated the interior to something newer than 2008? They've stopped the tendency for rust with lighter colour paints? They've started putting enough paint on so that the front doesn't chip off if a stone so much as looks at the paint funny? Hmmmm...
