Yeh I understand but listening to these bad things that can happen is the same for every car. So I don't have 28k for a 2012 at 30,000 on odometer. I need to get a bf version for my budget and there aren't any at 40,000 odometer reading to make it feel safer. There are log books all serviced at when it needed it comes with rwc and reg iam sure its not that bad. I'll still take it to a mechanic prior buying it to make sure engine n turbo and rest is bad I guess

Your not going to get a straight answer, as it's already been said, there's just too many variables.

Every car is going to be different depending on how it's been driven, serviced etc etc.

Try and get a car with a good service history, at least that's a start.

It also depends on how you drive, because if you get a good car and then you drive it hard then you will wear stuff out quickly.

I bought 2 of these cars 7monthes ago, an 08 FG XRT with 145,000ks and a 05 BA F6 with 160,000ks on it.

There've both been pretty good but I have spent a bit of money on some basic stuff.

If I were you I'd at least have a couple of grand set a side for some basic repairs in the first 6 months.

Good luck, cheers!

As already mentioned; how does the car get treated - and you probably will have no idea.

Some people will regularly break a stock standard car, while others will have a modified car for a long time and not break anything.

This comes down to a scale of "mechanically sympathetic" through to "abusive".

I would rather buy a modified car that has an owner who does not drive in a way that breaks stuff than a standard car that is abused.
