Actually, you ill informed tool, the BA Dingo/Gull engine is a DOHC 4 Valve design, which was pioneered in the 20th Century, Expensive Daewoo still persist with the pushrod on both your V6 AND imported Oil Burning inefficient V8...

It's not the 250 at all and ours wasnt imported from the states anyway, the 250 we used in the Falcon was far superior to the 250 in the Mustang, and light years ahead of any 6 available on a Expensive Daewoo at the time (GTR/XU1 excluded)

So basically, in this post alone, though you have done it in every other post, you have proved that you are a ***** ** ******* ******* ****** ******* ********* * ** ****** *******.

**** wooohooo ..... an apprentice moderator in the making ...... you sick'em LP ****

The xbox powersupply is what I'm redesigning to run off 12v, but at the same time instead of just making a quickie job of it I'm doing one that can keep teh xbox running during engine cranking, low battery voltage etc and has all the correct standby and switchon delays etc.

The chips for this alone are $25 each when/if you can find them in AU and I'm using about 6 of the buggers.  I've got those now.  in fact the only thing I need to do is build the 3.3v power good circuit design before feeding the lot into some PCB CAD software.

I've bought a new xbox to be cut up as well, and have the first prototype neatened up a bit since the test run.  The 2nd prototype cable will be mucho sexier :)

Hi, guys, ima noob, and did find this post rather interesting. especially, the part of modding an xbox psu. For almost a few weeks now, I been looking around for someone with the same interest. And that is installing an xbox, without using an dc-ac-dc converter. Aron, do u have any schematics or good sites, I can obtain this info. .. I would greatly appreciate, this...thanks for any replies. :spoton:

The xbox is not where all the magic lies.

Personalyl I choose the xbox becuase:

a) I'm very familiar with hardware having been modding them for about 2 years now.

b) I know how to lock the xbox into NTSC 16:9 mode which is what teh sceen must have to display correctly.

c) It has a nice Media Centre package (www.xboxmediacenter.de)

But really all you need is the NTSC RGB + CS signal (ie SCART) in 16:9 mode.

I'm working on a 'easy' SCART to BA system at the moment that will let you plug and play the BA -> SCART link meaning no soldering or stuffing about for those that want it.

Due to the high cost of the Ford plug it won't be mega cheap but for those that don't want to solder things it'll work.

You'll still need to sort out powering your device, and get the 16:9 NTSC SCART output from it.

Aaron, if I already have a portable dvd player with a screen would this cable hook up to the ford screen and enable it to be viewed on that screen aswell?

geea: Possibly - it depends on the signal coming out of the portable unit. It it's only got composite video (the single typically Yellow RCA) then it won't work without some form of CVBS (Composite) to RGB Convertor.

Convertors are not 'cheap' although they're not difficult.

If I can scrape up some more cash for development I'll be doing some work on the convertors next. In the mean time the 'basic' RGB system will be whats coming.

The 'Basic' RGB system will make the STB, DVD player, xbox, PS2 etc a plug and play install providing they can be made to output NTSC 16:9 (all of those items typically can be set for a certain output type). Assuming RGB SCART enabled.

At the moment I'm just waiting on a box of goodies (ie connectors) to arrive so I can finish your sample..
