First time posting , I have an FG F6 and I have a vibration in the drive train under hard acceleration I put a new tailshaft in it and it has SUPERPRO diff bushes and blade arms bushes and XYZ coil overs it has new engine Mounts and new gearbox mount as well , what I wanted to ask is if it could be any of the rear control arm bushes or rear drive shafts that is the problem ????? There is no vibration in first gear it's only in second and third or so it seems and smooths out up top is this because this is where all the torque is and that's why it's showing up there ???? Any help would be so much appreciated .... Cheers chris

It depends on what power you are looking to make and if you plan on taking it to the track. If you're only running stock power then the standard tailshaft is fine.

So while cruising you feel no vibration ? It's only when accelerating hard.

Yeah I only feel it under hard acceleration , it's making 362 RWKW , does the centre bearing in these cars require spacers between the bearing bracket and the mounting on the floor pan I have noticed the tailshaft sits low in the centre bearing bracket , if you know what I mean .... Or does that correct itself when the tailshaft is spinning ???? Also should I get the new tailshaft balanced at ford ????? Sorry for All the questions this is driving me crazy trying to sort out ....

Seeing as you put in a new tailshaft I'm guessing the Centre bearing is new . It is rubber mounted so maybe that's why it looks like it's sitting a bit low. It's been a while since I've had the standard tailshaft so I can't remember if it was spaced at all.

I have been told that ford do ballance the shaft while it's on the car so that might be worth looking into. But normally if it's a ballance issue you would feel it while cruising at speed not just when under acceleration. But it's worth getting it checked if you haven't already had it balanced. Other than that I wouldnt really get them to do much else because I don't think they are very good at problem solving.

Where are you located ?, depending on where you are someone on here might be able recommend the best place to take your car to solve the issue before you spend anymore money.

Crescent motorsports at prestons do all the work on my car and I've always been happy with their service. I think they open back up on the 12th of January.

The engine and gearbox mounts that you have fitted , are they standard ford ones or aftermarket?

Did you have this vibration before any of this work was carried out?

With an issue like this it's hard for someone to pin point the problem without seeing the car , so any reply you get on here will just be a guess .
