Yeah it is logical to change the manual, but not sure about the sss. I agree. I don't think we will see the six speed auto (jaguar??) untill the next model change. Ford must have spent a few dollars on upgrading the current auto to keep up with the power of the XR8 etc and also add SSS. They probably did this to remain competitive against the VZ dunnydore which I think is supposed to be getting a 5 speed auto with similar style SSS. Has the box changed that much from the one used in AU3?

They want to keep resale value up. Expensive Daewoo owners have been burn badly with the amount of times they change their cars. The salesman also told me Expensive Daewoo are bringing out the VZ in April. About the 5 speed auto....not true....it's a 6 speed because I have seen it and been in a XR6T test car with it.Cheers,

Uwish Member 65 Member For: 22y 1m 23d Location: Greystanes Posted 09/02/04 02:43 AM Share Posted 09/02/04 02:43 AM There will be a series 2, and that's when FPV will release there Xr6T.THere could be 50-100kgs of weight loss, that's about all the car could drop. The new gearbox ( 6 speed auto ) is a BIG possibility as it was designed for Ford Global use!So that's where weight savings can and will be made.Ford are Still behind in sales to the dunnydoreso they still need to upgrade and develope the Ba series.Im still waiting to buy as Im still reading about problems the 6T is still having. Then I'll weigh up whether a FPV 6T of an Sti or Evo 8 will be in my Garage!
