And the majority of people that have the 76 had the brains to get it while it was on special therefore even with a new actuator bracket (if wanted) and a cupla other bits and pieces, the GTX cost less fitted. Price is important to a lot of people

Obviously - like so many things - people have their own opinions on these two turbos....what one person says is simple to fit may be a total PITFA for the next person. One may say that they don't notice extra lag but in actual fact there may well be quite a bit more but they choose not to recognize it (I'm sure we've all read where someone says "I don't notice any extra lag") etc. etc..

As most of you know, I also grabbed a 76, when it was on special, after driving the Stigmata car as I wanted the G6 to be pretty much the same as what it is with the GT but have a few more wasps at the wheels without going cray cray and I don't need to spend extra money on a new fuel pump either as the 341 (or whatever it is) will be fine for the 350 'ish rwkw that the GTX..76 puts out on 98 octane.

Both snails have their good points and their - not so good - points and because everyone is different (have different ideas & opinions) I get how it's hard not to come across as being a turbo brand (size) fan boy so all I can say is.........do you research, talk to your tuner, ask lots of questions and listen to their response coz either of these turbo brands will have a snail for your exact needs

My 2 cents

Sorry if I upset a few it wasn't my intention.

I doubt the AIR surface on the first 330ft is going to do much for me on street meetings so I will be limited to only the comp meetings.

I guess having a stock stalled GTX3582 making well over 300rwkw@70kmhr just makes me not see the point of such a small turbo to get good low down power....I have had the GT3576...GTX3576 etc so not just talking from my internet chair but the drivers seat....it had the Invo 255s scetching at 25-30kmhr in 1st gear

Car went over 10.99 and over 130mph a few times with 390rwkw(only 290rwkw at 100kmhr) single 3" cat back exhaust/stock BA motor/stock stall/stock BTR 17psi on the doughey tune....one above with over 300 at 70kmhr was never raced.

I wonder if the BTR makes a fair difference as the load is allot better in 1st?

GTX3582 etc can be fitted with no actuator or bracket mods one just needs to select the correct parts.

A offset actuator arm and a universal bracket with slotted mounting holes for actuator rotation works a treat and gets the rod lines up very central along with clearance from mount...FG even easier to fit.

I can only compare the standard fg turbo to the precision 6235 . I only run e85 so I can't comment on how the response is on 98. And both the turbos were tuned on 17psi. Obviously the boost on the standard turbo tapers towards the top end . The difference in spool is minimal .

I take off in second most of the time so lag can't be too bad

Speak to Seaton about Niz exhaust. He picked up one for his. But didn't fit 100%. Needed something modded. Nothing major. But good to know before u fork out $$$$ for it.
