Ok thanks arronm, billet it will be.

I only wanna do this job once!

Still yet to confirm it is the slave, I'll climb under it tomorrow after work.

Question time!

Looks like I've got a broken clutch fluid line.

The leak appears to be on the flexible line that runs out of the firewall to just behind the cylinder head.

Question is, what are my chances of changing this line without removing the gearbox?

Cheers!

I don't think that hose has a join. It goes from the master cylinder to the CSC. So box out

Call Mal wood and get the new line (braided). A bleeder line. And a new alloy CSC with billet piston

Yeah the line looks to be one piece.

I have to work fri, sat, Sunday and on Monday I'm going away with the family for 2 weeks.

Because of this I'm going to try and remove the line tomorrow and get it repaired.

I think if I unbolt the box from the bell housing and can slide it back a few inches then I'll be able to remove the line from the CSC.

If this fails and I have to remove the whole box then I'll do what arronm has suggested but it's going to have to wait a few weeks.

I don't have the luxury of a hoist and will be working on my back with the car on stands!

P.S. I rang Ford and they want $240 just for the line, no thanks.

For a temporary fix. Cut the line at the break. Put in a barb joiner and 2 hose clamps and fix it after Xmas

This way you don't need to take the box out twice

I was thinking along those lines but was a little worried about the pressure.

I suppose I've got nothing to lose so I'll give it a go.

Thanks.

Well I tried!

But besides being in an absolute *beep* of a position, the hole was to close to the crimp fitting at the end of the hose.

Fluid is still weeping out of the hose closest to the crimp.

I'm getting a little bit of pedal but no where near enough.

So it can sit there for a few weeks till I get back from holidays and I'll pull the box out.

I HATE pulling gearboxes out!...... Big long sigh!
