ICC not IIC

So its over a year out of warranty yet they are still sorting it for you for free? (free labour to install as well?)

What 'rights' are involved cause as far as I can tell they should just be telling you to get stuffed :P (or that you should have purchased the extended manufactures warranty).

Either way good for you! Not sure what your luck would be for a new gearbox or something big though lol....but the ICC new are not cheap anyways, so surprised they are willing to help out so much

Sorry my bad, ICC..;)

Yep labour/freight and unit all covered because I am under law.

They tried the " you don't purchase extended warranty" but having worked in the consumer sector for 15 years and studying ACL and the statutory rights and the grey areas this government sets my argument is that a "Premium system in an flagship model should last longer the the "express warranties" that are standard. It's different for all people and products but put simply I prosumed that this issue should not be present in a $50k car, and if I knew of the issues I would have not made this purchase. If for example my claim wouldn't be valid in my mind if the car was say under $25k, and base model so & so.

Remember it's how you deliver it to the people/company/retailer. A little knowledge and understanding of the situation helps. I think I'm being reasonable, if I was thrashing my car week in, week out, doing what's called "not using the product within its set limits" then I wouldn't be pushing the situation. Hope this helps others too to understand and resolve issues

Ok, thanks.

Looks like he doesn't sell the adaptor separately. Does anyone have any ideas?? Has anyone convinced him otherwise? Does anyone know of anything else that will work?

Yeah dude.....I guess it is in the details and obviously you know how to talk it up....so good for you!

I have no idea about adaptor or anything....but pretty sure you need the whole unit for it to work?

All I know is....it would be easiest/cheapest just to buy a second hand one off gumtree/ebay. They pop up from time to time and are between $500-900 bucks.

When discussing with Ford, he told me you would need to get the same type of ICC to suit your AC....cause some have dual climate control and other have single.

So for me, I would need a single climate control ICC, which luckily enough is the cheaper one (seen one for $500 a couple weeks back and was semi tempted)....but I'm poor and that money could go towards my tune :P

Also I think it will need to be reprogrammed by Ford - which is probably up to 1 hrs labour....maybe sweet talk them and see if you can pay a little extra and get the Sync MKII ICC when you get you're warranty thing sorted lol As barnz said....http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11419146&page=6

Good luck!

Cheers man,

Got the call, I have to wait 6 more weeks.... 6 Very Load Weeks

I found on eBay today from mrfpv $800 for the mk11 colour FPV version with adaptor to fit mk1's. But he states adaptor not available separately. Pitty, thought I might be able to swing a mk11 version from Ford and buy the adaptor!!

Back to plan A, fit my iPad mini with one of these

time to dig up this thread as my car has started to make a scratch or ticking noise when turning left.

Like when a guitar is about to be plugged into an amp.

Ohh it is driving me insane, especially when I take left hand turns.

I am going to have to plan my routes from A to B to make sure that I only take right hand turns from now on.

Hopefully ford come to the table and fix it under warranty. Car is no longer under warranty. :(

Get it looked at sooner then later, I just made the demanding call for compo as mine is still not in yet. Local ford dealer are now paying for it them selves instead of ford Aus so they saying this Monday I should have it installed, I waited 80+ days not happy. When I was talking to the service guy he slipped and said they have 5 on order for the penrith region alone and I know of 2 waiting before me this year alone, that's 8 this year from one dealer alone. Seems like it's very common issue

Case has been logged with Ford. I have a case number, but I am going to have to pay to get it diagnosed at the dealer first.

Sucks balls.

How old mate? Mine was 2011 and out of warranty. It's a known issue with Ford I didn't pay a cent.
