But TBH not sure what I would look for if it was. I assume marks/deposits on the rotor itself which I dont see any. The pads im using are apparently questionable...so maybe ill try a new set after machining fronts...just in caseJust saw 116k. that's crap for a low K car. Suspensions is falling to bits..Lol didnt think my car was low kms I thought I read most bushes are good for 100000kms? Or at least the major bushes? It was a kalgoorlie car...so maybe their roads are harsher and did more damage.Meh...

Especially in NT were I could drive at whatever speed I wanted to. I put slotted and drilled DBA rotors and EBC Greenstuff pads. Worked great for about 5000 km the I had the same issue. Got hot out resin on rotors. Shudder city. EBC blamed DBA DBA blamed EBC Changed pads and machined rotors. But never completely got rid of shudder of got braking performance back. Grrrr....all I can do is try I suppose.Maybe this thread will be revived next year....if the issue isn't sorted lol

Wheels are black after 20ks though

Wheels are black after 20ks thoughIs wearing discs heaps actually desirable? I dont want superstar performance and prefer my black wheels to not be dusty every 20kms lol Even the combo I have now is adequate for my daily duties...if I had no shudder there would be no complaints from me (in terms of performance/stopping abilities). xr6tForMe Donating Members 273 Member For: 11y 8m 9d Gender: Male Posted 24/12/14 01:40 PM Share Posted 24/12/14 01:40 PM My theory is that internal irregularities in the castings that produce the cooling channels within the rotors are a significant problem. If the cooling channels are not completely even within the rotor, the rotors would not expand and contract evenly when heated (by braking), so wear unevenly or just have hot/high points grab unevenly when braking. Machining would make everything flat when cold, but when heat from braking comes into play, the issue re occurs. That is my theory but I need to look into if it is actually what goes on.
