Hi Guys, I have had a bit of a win with the first tuner that tuned my car after some lenghty discussions, he has offered me a set of ID1000 injectors to replace the 750cc ones he installed as this is the preference of the new tuner and to help with rough idle and injector scaling. He also has offered to reimberse me the money for the failed custom tune. So unfortunatly due to his good will and my promise to him not to rubbish him I will not be able to name and shame him at this point in time. I have noticed another issue though, my turbo is on its way out I think? When I turn off the car a noticable noise comes from the turbo when winding down, I wonder if anyone else has this problem and how long the turbo lasted before sh*tting itself?

Mine went the same way

Noise while winding down got worse and after a day or so started randomly making noises while driving when at certain revs, by the time I got a chance to get it checked out was well and truly rooted

Does not sound like Bizkets, that is fairly obvious is rooted. Mine is hardly noticable but it is still not smothe by any means. Just to give you an insite my car has only travelled 30000kms and has had regular services completed by ford themselves so if I was to replace the core and fix the problem what will prevent this from happening again in another 30000kms time? is there a better setup that will last longer out there?

I haven't read the full tread, but has the turbo inline oil filter been removed or replaced yet?

If not, you may want to remove it or replace it with an earls inline turbo oil filter as this will help reduce the risk of stuffing up the bearing in the turbo.

that is what comes to mind. this does not necessarily mean it will prevent it from happening in the future.

You sure it's a problem?

Video perhaps .

Both my turbos make a sort of hollow rumbling sound when you turn the engine off but you only hear it when it's a very quite day.

FG has 150,000kms on it and the BA has 168,000kms on it.

My 2011 G6ET made 301rwkw with F6 cooler, F6 injectors, xr8 airbox + snorkel, restrictor ring removed from cat and regapped plugs on 14psi.
But...it made 270rwkw before the tune O.o The tuner said he usually sees about 235 to 240rwkw pre tune.
This was at Profile Autosport about 5 weeks ago.

Back again guys, I have an update on where I am heading with the mods to my G6ET, I am going to replace the turbo even though it doesnt seem to be getting any worse in noise and I am looking for a GTX3582r or GTX3576r, my goal is to get to 350rwkw so I will also have to buy a bigger cooler as mentioned above (Proccess West Stage 1 cooler). Now has anyone installed either of these turbos and how do they compair to the small turbo with spool time? I have read all the forums and I still have no answer as to which one is best for my application?

I am pretty sure that the gtx3576r will get you to your goal of 350rwkw. Just chuck in some corn juice and it will take you too 400rwkw.

The gtx3582r will get you to 400rwkw on 98. Chuck in some corn juice to get it to 450rwkw?

I have not installed either of these in my car, but have read the current thread about the GTX3576r.

gtx3576r. I got 359rwkw and a flat 850nm from 2600-5100 then 5100-5900 down to around 760nm. awesome little turbo with a good tune. another member (stigmata) got 446rwkw with e85 on the 76.
