Z2TT Member 714 Member For: 12y 6m 17d Posted 06/12/14 12:59 PM Share Posted 06/12/14 12:59 PM (edited) With those same mods except different Injectors and no Port work I made about 300rwkw up from about 250rwkw at 15 PSI going down to 11/10 at the top end and this was with a F6 Cooler at about a 26 degree day, no problems at all. A larger intercooler might give you some extra power. How hot was the day that the car was tuned?Exhaust is not your issue I am currently making about 320rwkw with factory catback with factory turbo at safe boost.More boost won't make more power if the turbo is not able to flow the required air, you need air to make power so upping boost will not give you that much more if you cannot flow the air, or if you cannot cool it enough to satisfy the ECU's timing adjustment algorithm. I don't see why they are blaming the injectors, the flow is fine for the power your chasing. The power doesn't appear extremely low when you take into account the fact that different dynos and other factors that affect it, but I'm concerned about what is causing that dip/surge in power on the red line about 4000rpm?If you think the car doesn't deliver, race somebody who's dyno sheet read 300rwkw Edited 06/12/14 01:12 PM by Z2TT
WEPN6T New Member 15 Member For: 10y 1m 24d Gender: Male Posted 06/12/14 10:13 PM Author Share Posted 06/12/14 10:13 PM The only reason I installed a F6 cooler was to eliminate the fact that the first tuner thought that I had a boost leak (picked it up for next to nothing), the only boost leak I had was coming from my ears when I found out after spending time and money on piping and intercooler not much changed!!! So from what I gather with all your advice (thanks heaps BTW) is that with the smaller turbo that the XR6T and G6ET have in the FG model the more boost you try and get out of these things the more friction you cause inturn creating more heat which results in less performance (correct me if I am wrong). So if I was to invest in a larger more efficient cooler what would you guys reccomend? I am not interested in cutting or drilling into my car as I want to keep it as stock as possible so is there something out there that will do the job by just bolting in? Also my aim is to max out the small turbo and that will be enough for me, not looking at more then 320rwkw. With the exhaust system I am also reluctant to moddify more then what I have (venom high flow cat) as I love how this sounds and do not want to draw attention with louder system, this said I have been told by my second tuner that with the set up I have exhaust wise I should easily max out the small turbo, anyone disagree? Thank you all again for your input and ill be back with some more info on tuners and hopefully in the 300 club. If I manage to crack the 300+ I will also run it down the 1/4 and post some times along with the dyno sheets. Cheers guys

A full exhaust can help max out the small turbo at lower boost rather than pumping in 15-18 psi which is what many do
