Got a 2010 xr6t ute noticed for a while now that in trip tronic the shifts are harsh and jolt, even short shifting the car jolts, but in drive and performance mode there smooth and cannot feel it shift just wondering if its normal or something to be concerned about.

Has the car been tuned? I've heard conflicting reports that you can get different shift behaviour in manual mode when you get the ZF tuned.

I generally drive in manual mode except in stop start traffic so the adaptive learning

makes auto mode shifts nancy.

Manual shifts are a lot firmer, doesn't jolt as tyres are spinning in lower gears

Box not tuned, Car miserly 350 ish rwkw

In Tiptronic my shifts are smooth both factory and tuned compared to shifts in D, they may be the tiniest bit harsher but nothing notiecable. The response is not that good though to shifts so at times the engine revs out before it needs to shift and this can cause it to hit the limiter which is not good for the motor.

The ZF Shift program is almost perfect it is the most refined to suit the 4.0L Turbos power so well, that you do not need to use Tiptronic just drive it in D, otherwise get a manual car.
