How are you tuning the computer to run extra boost/fuel?What are you supporting mods? You just cant wind up boost and expect the computer to compensate..... boosted22 Member 7 Member For: 17y 5d Posted 05/12/14 07:40 AM Author Share Posted 05/12/14 07:40 AM so no you cant add a electronic boost controller so u can only ever run one boost setting unless u have a hand controller with a tune for that boost setting you wanna run ? boosted22 Member 7 Member For: 17y 5d Posted 05/12/14 07:45 AM Author Share Posted 05/12/14 07:45 AM sorry im not expecting the computer to just retune it self just meant if u do will the computer go in to limp mode etc by no longer controlling the wastegate etc
stretch4660 Member 122 Member For: 11y 11m 21d Posted 05/12/14 08:12 AM Share Posted 05/12/14 08:12 AM Could very well go into limp mode as the computer wouldn't be getting a reading from the standard boost controller.Have you had a chat to a tuning shop or someone of great expertise to get a good idea of how to go about it.? What you're saying sounds extremely dangerous and could easily grenade the engine.Tune via HP tuners or SCT Xcal to suit whatever mods you've acquired.. Assuming it's an XCAL device. Also if it's an XCAL original those cannot be given new tunes any more, nor can an XCAL2 I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while.
