The shudder only affects me from 80km/h onwards so I hard spend that much time at that speed.

I normally drive secondary roads rather than freeways and highways.

That being said, I am having a lot of squealing with these pads and it is driving me insane. I am starting to have a sneaky suspicion as of last night that the front left side of the car is the cause.

On hard braking I can hear some noise coming from the suspension when the car dips down. this is not a good sign for me, but also an excuse to get the shockworks put in sooner.

I have decided to give the QFM A1RM pads a miss as the minister of war and finance is not happy with the recent spending's.

lol....so you never hoon? seems like I'm always in the 80kmh+ zone :P

Yeah I just hate how there could be a million different causes and you have to spend a small fortune to fix it :/

That's why I've just been living with it for a while.....but the vibrations are now getting to a dangerous level (I.e. freeway speeds)....so gotta bite the bullet and fix what I can and machine the RDAs and see how they go!

Your comment on how no places want to machine the T3's has got me concerned now....did those East Perth dudes say they could machine or not? Did they give you a price....

....

That's why you should just take it to professionals. Will save you money in the long run instead of trying new part after new part trying to get rid of the problem when someone who knows what they're doing could drive it, check it out and tell you what it is

I've been in exactly your shoes with other problems with other cars when I should have just taken it straight to mechanics/specialists and paid a little more first time but saved heaps in the long run..

I spoke to Nick in East Perth and they do skim the T3s. However you have to take the rotors off and take it to him.

Will take about an hour and cost $50. he does not have the time to take the rotors off the car and do it all in one go.

Tim, I would take it to a specialist but they don't want to know about it. The Hancook tyre and brakes place in Beechboro blamed it on the rotor and did not want o look at it.

When I spoke to Nick over the phone he said the problem is that it is a FORD. I could not believe what I was hearing. he said it is a known issue with Fords and it is a design problem.

Ford will not fix it as that means it would require a recall to resolve the issue and cost to much.

How else am I going to fix this Tim?

There are so many factors in play and I rather take it to someone that knows a lot about ford.

If only Ratter was in Perth.......

So the brake specialist won't look at it? Wtf is that?

Could monsta torque help you? Or are they not involved in the brakes side of things

I have not changed them and dont plan on getting other pads right now. Might put the oem ones back in over the weekend and see how this affects the car.

As I mentioned, i spoke to Nick and i am not sure that changing pads will fix this. I dont want to spend more money at this time of the year.

Do this to start with.

Do a few hundred k's so they have time to bed in properly then try and induce the shudder.

Got any pictures of the disc's? I'd be willing to bet the pads have overheated and dropped resin on the discs

^^^Thanks for the tip Marco! $50 for both front rotors? That's pretty good especially for Perth based business (Its only down the road from work too)....It would mean though that I need to either have my car off the road for a week (cause I would need my mechanic friend to come down on the weekend, remove rotors and either just put the old OEM warped rotors back on - or just leave it jacked up for a week). - But for all this hassle; might be easier to just get it done at Hitech (think they quoted $70 for machine and then $100 per hour for labour I.e. prob 1 hr to remove/fit front rotors).

Anyways....enough with my ramblings :)

cheers!

Dude.....I've been everywhere man!

To look at my vibration issues I've been to (KTAS East Perth, TTF Joondalup, Seaview Ford, Hitech Brake & Clutch) Ford & Hitech have looked at shudder issue also - with no recommendations (bloody Ford dude wants me to leave it at their place for at least 1 day (and said could even be up to 1 week) and at $159 per hour....they can EAD if they think I'm signing off on spending thousands just to diagnose the problem lol).

I've also had discussions with an RDA rep who "investigated" my case for me (he said "steering or suspension component" could be causing premature rotor wear - I started my own thread; so don't want to clutter up Marcos).

But yeah....I've got it booked in this Friday at Pedders Joondalup to do one of their suspension checkover things (Test Lane Plus or some BS) - so hoping they discover something. I'm a noob mate; I don't touch my own car so mechanics/professionals are all who work my car - which is why I'm always poor! :P

Cool Bananas. I will Keep that in Mind Luke about the Mechanic in EllenBrook.

I do plan on getting the OEM pads in there to see if it is a Resin issue. I think it will be a resin issue and I have tried a few hard braking with the current pads to see if it helps., but I am not sure if I am doing the right thing.

Peter, I there is no lip at the end of the rotors, it should be a 15 minute job to get the calliper off and remove the rotors(or am I being optimistic guys?)

I will find out on the weekend.

Luke, thanks for the contact with Jason. I have ordered 300 clams worth of stuff, that should make my life easier on the weekend.

I will take pics of the rotor on the weekend once I got the wheels off and you have a clear view of the rotors.
