Is having shagged engine mounts likely to cause any issues other than increased NVH?I'll get the centre bearing done with the diff bushes next week, if it is something else I'll get them to do that as well. Car has 190,000 on it so not surprised, pretty much every other bush and bearing has been replaced on it already. Drive the car home and find it still makes the noise just not as bad. The rear end is definitely better now but annoyed I have to take it back again.FFS Edited 04/12/14 03:28 AM by rollex

I'll take it to a local mechanic, sick of driving that far.Cheers

Diff bushes are new, centre bearing has zero play. They tightened up a bunch of loose stuff (subframe bolts and vibration shield) which didn't fix it. Suggested it could be driveshaft/tailshaft bearings but they didn't want to start replacing stuff hoping it would fix it in case it wasn't the problem. Said it might be best just waiting for it to get worse until it becomes obvious what it is. They didn't charge me as they couldn't figure it out.
