Ba Xr6 Premium Options - How Do You Know?

Hi guys,

Ive been looking for a list of premium options for BA XR6 turbos, but cant seem to find any.

Does anyone have a list of these options with a description on how to tell if your car has them?

A few I know of are colour screen, subwoofer (and tweeters in a-pillar?) is premium sound? <-- correct me if im wrong

And there is also a 2 pot front caliper option? <-- how do you tell? is the caliper different/rotor size different?

Ive noticed that my car has a PBR brake cylinder.. does this means my car has premium brakes?

Would like to know all options!

PBR brakes have blue calipers from memory and yes premium on BA

Premium sound comes with the colour screen.

Can't recall if 18" rims were an option. Not much help

Yeah Buffers. I believe that 18"s were an option.

Back in the day, I had one of the most optioned up MK1 BA,s in Queensland at on point. List price was around $60+k on the road.

It had Leather, Premo sound with Bluapunkt DVD, sunroof, reversing sensors, adjustable pedals, Factory V8 bonnet on a XR6T, Factory GT rear wing, 18" wheels, Factory bonnet protectors, Factory Weather sheild, Factory chrome strip in front and rear bumpers and also Factory floor mats.

was it that bonnet and wing that spawned the call of "tranny" or was it worse than that hahahaha

Yeah mate. that's what made me a Tranny. Ended up with GT front bar and GT racing stripes too. The bonnet bulge had the boss 290 decals removed with turbo ones in its place. Looked good at the time but now was pretty gay...........lol

I love the bonnet bulge more than those GT stripes that are on these latest ones ,they just look gay . ah that is right I have a xr 8 bonnet on my xt one tone ute . might get some stripes

over the bonnet like the one and only classic not plastic GTHO had

would that make me gay ?

The premium option (PBR C6 calipers twin piston with 322mm rotors) that came out on FPV GT and Typhoon were coloured blue with FPV decals.

Other cars that were optioned with these had the same dimensions but calipers were painted black with Ford decals......these were pretty much standard equipment on police pack vehicles.

- full size spare was mandatory with Premium Brakes

Premium Sound (color screen, sub woofer on rear shelf, big amp under drivers seat, A-pillar tweeters, 6-stacker CD player, etc.)

Aux pre-amp (play music through Aux input, turn off ignition - if the volume collapses, you have the pre-amp)

Bluetooth Module (arrived with BF but fits BA also - a single button with a phone graphic in the middle of the console )

Automatic Climate control - eschews the two dial HVAC controls for a button array

Sports steering wheel (the fat one)

Sports auto shifter (it's either grey or its brightly coloured to match the coloured XR interiors)

Rear window shade (external)

Side windshield (skinny version / fat version)

Internal rear window shades (twist to fold and store in front seat pocket)

Rubber Boot mat/tub - heavy duty with lip

Boot loading protection flap

Boot storage net

Carpet Mats ('Ford' / colour coded 'XR' / FPV chrome buttons)

CD storage case (fits into the slot next to the tissue box slot)

Phone 'presenter' (a hinged lever that lives inside the centre console - in the days of car kits the phone interface would be bolted to this)

Storage pack for back seats (two versions, one for kids, one for adults)

Peltier cooler for back seat

- AC power pack for Peltier Cooler

Mud Flaps

Roof racks and fittings
