camdawgs Member 49 Member For: 13y 11d Posted 19/11/14 12:25 PM Share Posted 19/11/14 12:25 PM Hay just trying to figure if their is something wrong with my car or if anyone else has experienced the same problemI drive a 06 BF F6...6 spd autoNo modificationsThose that have driven/drive these vehicles will know the lil trick of releasing the accelerator at the right time and generally changing gears will give the BOV a little flutter...as standard...ive owned the car about 2 years and this has been the noise I have been hearing until 2 days agoAs I pulled out a shop carpark I accerlerated and released for abit of a wank factor and it made the big PSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTT noise that all the Jap cars make when they drop boost between gears.I checked when accelerating normally and changing gears manually, in performance and in normal drive and unless I take my foot of the accelerator the car does not lose boost between gear changes.Now I LOVE this sound so much better than the original flutter...but my questions is how this may have randomly happened and could this be a problem or causing any damage to the vehicle? The recirc valve noise went from a flutter to a 'tsssh'. As it got worse I noticed the drop in boost pressure/power, but at first it just sounded different and didn't affect performance.
