I hear what you're saying mate. I decided about 1 year ago that I would just hang onto my ute for as long as I can. It was my first real performance car, it does everything I need, it goes quite well now that its be modified and over all I really like it.

I have always been good at keeping my cars in great condition. Its really important to keep your interior in good condition, I hate seeing people drill holes in there dash to mount phone holders or gauges.

Although my car is now modified I've kept every single stock part. Everything boxed up and put away nicely on shelves in the back of the garage. Apart from the obvious cooler and sitting a bit lower, my car still remains relatively stock looking inside and out.

It will be interesting to see how many FPV's still remain in years to come.

I keep my cars in very good condition which I'm sure the next owners would appreciate, but I purchase a car to give me enjoyment, not someone else 20 years down the line. That said though, there is such a thing as tasteful modifications, and it's not difficult to lose the original character of a car as you replace more stuff. I've modded cars in the past where I've gone past this point and always wanted to go back, but the prospect of losing power by reversing mods is not something you really wanna do.

I'm taking my time with the F6, so far a Herrod intake for a bit more noise (holding on to the OE one though), Shockworks coilovers, speakers/sub and dynamat, and a dedicated set of wheels/tyres for the track. Also few 'upgrades' that people don't think about, Mainlube gearbox and diff oil, Motul brake fluid.

Next on the list will probably be a set of FGX XR8 wheels for the street (keep the OE design but staggered). As for power... I've been thinking the car could do with some more power, but then I drove a stock 2008 STi (305bhp) a couple of days ago and I was forcing the pedal into the floor wondering where all the power was. The stock map on the F6 builds so nicely and it's definitely a quick car. It's incredibly driveable power too, that's one attribute I would miss if I started chasing the kilowatts. I read this sort of comment all the time on old posts from people who now have '400+rwkw' in their sig, but I can't see more than an intercooler and mild remap going onto this car during my ownership.

I bought my F6 in the middle of winter and was really happy with the power and noises it made on cold mornings and cool nights.

Now summer is almost here I've really noticed the difference in both power and noise. Heat really affects these cars even standard.

When it's cold you can really hear the spool and BOV doing its thing but hardly at all when it's warm.

Lately I've been researching ways to have that cold air performance on my stock F6.

Still looking at a few things.

Frostyboy is an old member who isn't on the forums much these days, but owns a manual BF F6 with like 500rwkw or some bullsh*t amount, and regrets the power level as it's just not able to put the power down and skates all over the shop. He loved a ride in my paltry 320rwkw car because I'm able to stamp the pedal in third and enjoy it rather than sh*tting bricks from getting tail happy.

In an auto it might be easier, I dunno. But it sounded like slicks would be the only option and that would suck.

I think 400rwkw would be the ceiling for a lot of people without running mega $$$$ tyres, unless you enjoy the constant challenge of feathering the throttle. That would have its own charms but might get old after a while, always having to back off it.

I love to slam that accelerator pedal down and enjoy the full power the car can give. Would like 380rwkw though I think :)

It's hard to do a lot of reading on this forum and not get caught up in the whole power thing.

To give you an idea of where I'm at, I've never even turned the traction control off since I've owned my car.

I'm not disrespecting those that are chasing power it's just I'm older now and it's not where I wanna go at this stage.

A minor upgrade in the future is not out of the question though.

I'm still getting used to 330rwkw lol

going from V8's the progressive power curve of the F6 is great though you do have to watch what road surface your on though skates abit sometimes :P
