Hi Guys,

What's the most unusual unmarked cop car you've seen?

On the way home from work this week, I saw a black Nissan X-Trail. Not hard to spot as he had nabbed somebody and his lights on.

A dumb mistake. Accelerating down the onramp onto James Ruse, I saw a blue Hyundai vacate the left lane (that I needed to merge into). I didn't spot the almost identical blue buzz box behind him (who had decided not to vacate the left lane). One more. Hearing the sirens, I slowed approaching a green light to let the ambo through. And then I proceeded. The cops came barrelling into the intersection close behind the ambos. I assumed one emergency vehicle not two. Oops!

Was stuck behind one slow person in the left lane another one boxing me in the in the right lane.. Right lane one turned off so I pulled into the right lane and booted it in second, got a bit through third and came up behind a Late model camira rather fast and braked.. Then I noticed the little light bar in the back window and the two guys staring at me in the mirrors

sh*t my pants but they did nothing, probably detectives or something

A regular subaru impreza hatch. Not a wrx.

And a plain 4wd Toyota hilux. You just can't spot them these days. Except for the XR6Ts with a huge aerial hanging off the qtr panel. See them a mile off.

I've seen lots of Hyundai's and Sh!tsubishis around my area. I was speaking to a retired detective a little while ago about this subject and he said that for every marked police car you see on the road there is about 10 un-marked ones, weather it be highway patrol, detectives, drug squad, specialist crime unit or someone a little higher up. He also mentioned that depending on the unit and within reason they are not really allowed to pull people over for minor traffic offences and expose a covert vehicle.
