The FPV dealer where I bought the car second hand told me get it serviced every 10,000km although the book says 15,000kms. First question: Should I get it serviced every 10,000km or wait for the 15,000 to come up? (Currently at 52,000kms.)Second question: Is it worth going to a performance mechanic/shop to get a regular service? Car is completely stock. Obviously performance shop would charge more, which I don't mind, providing that there is going to be a difference.Cheers,Tim

I do mine every 7500kms and I try to take it to a tuner for the services but I cant always so sometimes it goes to autotech sometimes ford sometimes another guy who was a BMW specialist. IIRC the manual defines harsh conditions as:- stop start driving (city driving) - prolonged high speed operation (country driving)- frequent cold starts- towingIn harsh conditions the fluids and filters should be changed every 7,000km.In addition, prolonged high speed operation (country driving) and or towing, requires a diff oil change at every 7,000km.

Only had it changed like twice and I'm at 247,000km now. Pleeeennnty of hard driving in that as well.Oil and filter at 7,500 for me. I DIY that and the bolt tightening/cleaning TB, the minor stuff, as I have time on weekends. Specialist people only for the hard stuff.

I do alot of highway driving as well as some stop start, my diff oil was still clean after more than 20,000km, there wasn't much difference between the new diff oil and old stuff. I change the engine oil/filter every 5000-7500km, I like doing it myself and plan on keeping my car so I don't care about the logbook service history. Although I keep all of my receipts as proof of maintenance just in case. If there's anything that I can't do myself, like the above, the car goes back to the tuner. timmyb9 New Member 12 Member For: 10y 1m 25d Posted 10/11/14 03:43 AM Author Share Posted 10/11/14 03:43 AM Okay thanks everyone!Seems like around 7,500 is the magic number. My logbook is complete, however all been done at 15,000km. Should I be worried regarding the length between intervals before I owned the car? Also, a long shot I know, but can anyone recommend a reputable performance shop in the Hills District (north west suburbs of Sydney)? Around Castle Hill, those sort of areas?Cheers again!
MattstaF6 Member 2 Member For: 9y 11m Posted 21/12/14 04:08 AM Share Posted 21/12/14 04:08 AM I do mine at 10,000km's with Castrol Edge oil. I don't think 5,000km is required unless you drive hard often. Also do your diff every 30,000km. Its not expensive. Whatever you do don't go to Ford to get your car serviced. Way overpriced and they use cheap oil most of the time
