Mine had 3 welded sections. I used a rotary tool with a cut off wheel and cut through most of the weld, then used a hammer and big screwdriver to knock the ring in. Then just pulled it out.

Venom high flow cat for mk1 bash out ring in factory cat mk2 I believe. So you are fine if you have venom cat
