If you plan on E85 I wouldn't want to go near one.

I've seen what can happen.

98 I'm sure they are a good pump.

They aren't rated for continuous E85 usuage

044 are noisy as f*ck and a poor choice for a street car imo

You have quite clearly never had one set up correctly then

This has been the choice of pump in the xr scene for an extremely long time now, thousands of units correctly paired up with dedicated surge tanks, noise minimal when mounted right

E85 has been flowing through 044's longer than any other pump I can think of, how would I know ? Because its still going after being one of the first to use e85 over 5 years ago might have something to do with it :P

Every other pump needs to play catch up to the bosch as its had the time and rep well backed up now ladies

The pump works fine it is just noisy. I've seen many of them both mounted internally and externally, they all make more noise than the alternatives.

I never said anything about E85.

I did say something

The manufacturer even states what I've said

And to have the attitude it's always been done this way is a dangerous way of thinking.

That's how the dark ages happened

LOL there's a difference between following an ideology or belief system in comparison to scientifically proven results. We follow a much stricter regimen of theory then practice to prove theories time after time after time. This is one of those times.

I'm not saying they are the same thing

That's a straw man fallacy

just because it's been around for ages doesn't make it a superior product and vice versa with a new.

But there is proof that their are better pumps out there (I'm not talking surge vs intank).

The 044 did it's Job and did it well for a long time but there is better proven alternatives for surges

cheap and effective versus expensive and equally effective... put it any way you want - the 044 is still a good option due to it's cost.

Fuel pump noise is the least noise in my cabin. Given the intake, spool noise and exhaust, I can hardly hear the pump. But I can just and I like it, because if it dies I will know immediately.

I like that feature, many have had pumps die and have not known straight away. Nice way to run lean...

The only thing I want running lean in my car is me, and I've already got that thanks to Mr Gene
