Car is currently running United e85 but also want to run a 98 tune so I can switch over when necessary. Is it as simple as getting a retune on 98 and then plugging the sct in and changing fuel when I want to change fuel? Or will I need to change plugs etc everytime I switch between tunes.

that's what I originally thought but a mate convinced me otherwise last night. Maybe that's the case with his r spec gt but not with our barras.

He had a workshop do some work on his 500rwkw gt and they filled it with 98 without him knowing. He drove it for a while wondering why it ran like balls until he realised. Drained it and ran it back on e85 and it still wasnt like how it used to be. Got new plugs and it was fine. Who knows though.

If I remember right I think running 98 on an e85 tune would mean the tune is running rich and that would foul the plugs eventually but that would have to be a relatively long time I would imagine.

Plenty of people with barras who swap between 98 and e85 tunes around and only concern is not having your 98 tune too lean so that if you have some e85 still in the tank when you top up with 98 it doesn't lean out

I used to swap between 98 and E70 tunes all the time.

From 98 to E85 easy. Car loves E70-E85 and a bit of 98 left in the tank initially is tolerated in the tune. Just stop at Servo. Flash the E85 tune in while filling up to save time.

From E85 back to 98, not so easy. Try and run the tank as low as possible, before filling back up with 98. Mine would takes quite a few goes at starting and needed a feathered throttle to keep idle revs up to prevent stalling. After the first 5-10km drive would be ok.

I've had about 15% e85 left in the tank when I switched back to 98 and it ran perfectly. I do have a fairly high tolerance in the tunes though
