Is it worth keeping the zf tune in the fg I recently bought. Heard mixed reviews. Does it really kill the box/input shaft that easily? Any other info would help

Has anyone had any bad experiences from a zf tune? It shifts pretty hard even with normal cruising. Feels good under wot though with the quick shifts. But if its going to have an adverse effect on the box ill get rid of it.

Shifted way too hard. Would nearly chirp at part throttle changes. I have been in other cars that were sweet with zf tune it all depends how good your tuner is

I've heard it can be a ballbreaker if they've increased shift firmness too much to get it back to a happy place but it can be done

There use to be a lot of concern with zf tunes but there are a lot of good places with plenty of experience now who know what they're doing. They can break input shafts but depends on the tune and what power level you're at

Yeh running decent power atm. Would returning it to standard really make a big difference on the life of the gearbox even if the zf tune was good? Tbh I dont know how a standard zf even feels as ive always had manuals and the zfs ive driven have always been tuned.
