Not to be a stick-in-the-mud but has Chiptorque run these by the (QLD) dept of transport to see if they are legal and/or get them certified as such? I know the cops are cracking down on 'distracting instruments', that's all, and if you can get a piece of paper to say its legal, then there's piece of mind. Know what I mean?

Hi Feenix,

At this stage we have not had the pods run past QLD Transport. I believe the crackdown you are referring to is mainly directed at moster tachos, boost controllers and other gauges screwed directly to the dash. By colour coding our pods to the dash colour our intentions were to have it look like it was fitted by the factory (I believe we have done this). We have fitted similar pods to Subaru WRX's without any problems.

I just finished installing my pod and boost gauge.

The gauges are white faced 60mm Apexi.

It looks great... I like the way they are angled towards the driver.

I used a smaller screw than the one supplied for the front screw.

Easy to install.

Running the boost rubber tube down through the space underneath the dash was a bit trickier.

I don't know how I survived without the boost gauge.... 0.7 bar at 2500 revs in 4th. I feel better now.... max boost 1.1 bar.

Thanks Stef.

Brian

I've got an electronic temp gauge, and I'll probably link it to the oil temp. I think I'll get someone to set that up for me.

I also have a choice of an EGT or pressure guage (for fuel) ... I've had these gauges for a while now just sitting about.
