Interested to know what causes the large amount of exhaust crackle on these engines.

I usually like it on other cars, every coyote ive heard including mine sounds so poppy and tinny on deceleration its just not a nice sound.

One or two crackles is nice, but coyotes seem to do a couple a second.

Mines just a cat back but ive heard cars with full systems the same.

Also on my standard tune it does it alot less.

Would be interested to know. Cheers

Isn't crackle excess fuel igniting when the exhaust valves are open or something?

I'd especially think it's tune related as you point out it does it more on your after market tune. Could be turned down again in the tune?

It's 99% to do with airflow, which is basically a combination of a lot of factors, some of which are: the order the pistons fire in, the size/diameter of the exhaust, the restrictions in the exhaust, places where the exhaust flow meets other exhaust flow, engine revs etc.

The stock exhaust sounds tinny, in my opinion. Aftermarket exhausts usually fix the the tinny/rattly sound and leave a nice burble.
