loz181 Inactive Members 1 Member For: 10y 7m 22d Gender: Male Location: cairns queensland Posted 11/10/14 04:40 AM Share Posted 11/10/14 04:40 AM here is my problem...by the way I am a mechanic of 30 years exp..friend decides he wants to put a complete ba factory turbo motor into his ba non turbo auto wagon,no problemhe turns up with complete motor,pulled out his motor leaving the auto trans still in car. now the problems start.he did not supply the ecu so I said also get wiring becuase the turbo ecu has extra plug he got both.then I find that the harness on the drivers side ie from engine fuse box is wrong so he purchased new genuine rh harness fitted up this reprogramed bcm etc.started up car engine op fine. now the speedo is in op and the p selector indicator on cluster is flashing...ran scan test its says comunication fault speed sensor a or speed sensor 1 have changed cluster to xr 6 turbo sedan still has faultchecked to make sure auto harness has same pins that's ok.near the left head light there is 2 main harness connectors I have noticed one of them has an extra blue wire on the turbo harness,so when plugged to lh harness that extra blue wire is not theredo I have to change left body harness also? please only reply if you have done this swap or you know for sure. luke187 Member 297 Member For: 11y 5m 26d Posted 21/10/14 06:38 AM Share Posted 21/10/14 06:38 AM as gunna said, unfortunately with the new abs module you'll also need to run an additional brake line all the way to the rear as the non traction control one only runs 1 line and splits just before the left rear - on the sedan it means diff cradle out... might be a bit easier on the wagon. What we ended up doing with my conversion is put the TC abs unit in but plugged the additional line. This effectively disables the traction control but doesnt cause any issues other than if you do a burnout it automatically switches off. Havent experienced any issues with abs or anything else.
