I've had a search and can't find a answer to my question. I've got a tripod of saas gauges and I'm wondering how you guys are getting the power for illumination? Do the fgs dim through the earth of the lighting circuit? What's the best way to do it?

In short, yes they dim through the earth circuit. I grabbed the illumination positive from the plug at the top of the ICC by using a test light. Couldn't find the earth for dimming so ended up making a small jiffy box with pot to control voltage. I can get some pics if you like although there are plenty of threads where this is discussed.

If your not too keen on making something autometer make a variable dimmer which will support up to 6 gauges!
