Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade the "premium sound" speakers in my FG as one of the back ones is blown. I wanna keep the stock look and hide everything, so I am not looking for new amps I just want replacement speakers and a sub. I was going to go with the JBL 8" sub and was thinking some alpine splits for the front and some 2-way ones for the back. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any reasonably priced speaker and also has installed splits in the front and kept the factory tweeters?

Thanks Roweyy

Replaced mine with Polk DB series front and rear.

With the fronts I disconnected OEM twitters and replaced with Polk twitter. I run the wires down outside of dash, hidden under plastic covers and under kick panel, where I placed crossover.

Driver side wires, picked up from under kick panel.

And don't forget sound deadener, improves greatly sound quality and stopping rattles.

I think it comes straight from ICC but could be wrong!!

Originally I had the OEM Tweeter running and just replaced front door speakers.

Yeah that little black cylinder looking thing is a high pass filter. It only allows high frequencies to pass and does it's best to reject the rest. So no crossover is needed, but if you replace the tweeter you need to use the crossover because it most likely wont have a filter OEM style.
