clutch pack clearances are critical to correct shifting, even a different brand of clutch plate can alter this, different shims and thickness steels are available also but one does not just stick a new clutch pack in without doing all the tolerance checks

07 bf, 170k on clock with 380rwkw for last 6yrs 2 of those yrs with zf tune and still stock heat exchanger and box. Only problem I've had was leaking electrical connector on box.

Finally starting to slip so time for rebuild and will get a pwr heat exchanger when fresh box goes in.

If you've ever pulled a watch apart (analogue) and thought fmd where did that spring go then that's how most people would feel about an automatic gearbox! A fcking nightmare...

Especially if you are doing it on carpet...Haha

89,000km. I've changed the heat exchanger at 30k and 70k.

I won't do it again, if it goes I'll deal with the consequences or trade in the car (just quietly)

Mk1 G6ET.

First and only mod I did was bypass the stock heat exchanger and fit a cooler at the front of the car -along with flush of gearbox oil.
