Hi Troy,

Thanks mate. After doing some research it does seem sort of 'common', I'll look into replacing it. Thanks mate.

Hi Stever,

Well I actually can't notice it in the last 3 days or so :/ I have changed from V power to Caltex Vortex 98 fuel. Does anyone think that could have been my issue???

Cheers,

Tim

Isn't this called "hunting" or am I thinking of a different issue...

Anyway, if it is, rev hunting is a transmission thing. This isn't your cluster doing something funny but actually your trans doing something funny. If I'm not mistaken (others on this forum know way more than me about transmissions) its your converter that's causing this. Whether this is bad or not, no idea

Hunting just describes the engine moving up and down from the target idle, it is "hunting" or trying to find and settle on the idle. It can be caused by many things, most common is a vacuum leak. It is a colloquial term so you can use it however the FARK you wanna use it :w00t2:

As we aren't talking about an idle issue here it may not be a vacuum leak. Do the usual diagnosis, read the codes first and take it from there.
