Car looks the great Dan. Good combo in terms of colour, wheels and height.

Any time you try and skimp with these it always just turns into headaches in the long run and end up costing more. Hence why its better to do it right the first time ans just enjoy the car afterwards.

My only concern with machined RDAs would be how they will go when they are thinner. If they warp at oem thickness how will they hold up after being machined?

If it does not cost you anything its worth giving it a go I guess.

Hey guys,

Just a bit of an update on the car. Have been speaking with RDA directly and Automasters (who did the work) I'm gonna keep this as factual as possible to avoid any slander.

RDA didn't really want a bar of my situation. According to them, performance rotors have no warranty and if a rotor does come under warranty cover, it is void if the vehicle has changed hands. Have no idea how that reasoning works...

Automasters did the right thing and agreed to machine and inspect the rotors for me so I am thankful for their help - It did come out of their own time and money. The shudder has significantly been reduced but overall, the brakes are still terrible... The stopping power on this car is worse than the stock brakes on my 04 BA...

Would never go near an RDA product again after this. Just something to think about if you're thinking about an upgrade guys :spoton:

Plans will be T3/T2 combo, lines and nice pads otherwise a front caliper upgrade as well if I can afford it. Not feeling the confidence I'd like...

Cheers,

Dan

Are bummer Dan as you say at least they skimmed them for ya.

I did see 20% off DBA T2's at Repco I think.

Make sure if you get a price speak to Matt From Race Brakes Sydney.

Matt will more then likely beat it hands down.

^^^^WHS

Am pretty sure you are not in a rush, give Matt a call and ask him about braided lines to. He does the whole lot including brake upgrades.

I was in the same boat about the brakes. No confidence what so ever. Done the braided lines, changed rotors to the T3 and also put different pads in.

If you ever on one of the forum cruises and want to test drive my car to feel the difference, let me know.

I am sure we can arrange something.

^^^Where's my free test drive Marco? :P

Hey Dan FWIW....RDA rejected my claim too (5000kms and I am original purchaser). As I suspected they will just wipe their hands off with anything...essentially saying I must have done something or something on my car must have done something to cause the shudder to come back. They were nice and all about it...but pointed at all different things that could be causing the issue.

As at the time of install they seemed fine...but then shudder slowly came back (but only at medium to heavy applications). So I will just live with it for a while....and try and look at my other suspension and steering components first (as you never know it could be those parts causing the shudder and not so much the rotors themselves). As far as not having the same performance as stock BA brakes...that kinda sucks lol

I really do think braided lines help (for me you don't need to push as hard on the brake pedal - but not sure if that just comes down to pads being slightly better than OEM). So increases confidence a bit; except the shudder takes away said confidence too.

Anyways good luck with the new combo!

Thanks for the advice guys,

I'll talk to Matt again - I've dealt with him a few times actually and I can't recommend him highly enough :spoton:

Thanks for the offer Marco - Appreciate it.

Cheers Nitro, I'll price up a kit with Matt and go from there.

Can you guys suggest a good workshop that will install what I buy from Matt? I know lots of places aren't big on installing products bought elsewhere...

Cheers!

DIY it at a maintenance day! What's the worst that could go wrong. :)

Hey guys,

It' been a while between updates but I had a bunch of things done to the car yesterday.

1) Install of PWR external trans cooler + full transmission service

2) 60,000km full log book service

3) Install of earl's inline oil filter (Stealth)

4) Install of new brake package - Fronts are Slotted T3's with Ferodo DS2500, Rears are slotted T2's with a lesser Ferodo pad

Finally don't have to freak out about the ZF milk-shaking :spoton:

The brake package is great and I can recommend it highly. Great package for those on a budget!

Cheers,

Dan
