Only Ford dealers can sell you an extended Ford new car warranty. If the car was first registered after 01/10/2011 is will still be withing the 3 year new car warranty when you pick it up on Tuesday and you will be able to walk into a Ford dealer and extend the warranty. Otherwise your only option is 3rd party.Ford may have a grace period, but I am pretty sure you can only extend within the initial 3yr period. Personally, I would not even consider `other` (non-Ford) types of warranty. My car is out of warranty now, but all up (I got the 3 years/100,000Klms) I had several claims, no dramas, no limit (market value of car at time of repair), no worries (diff bush, timing seal & sump, new speedo cluster which included tow, upper/lower rear control arms, control blades, fuel line/brake lines etc etc) I saved a lot of money. As long as I can claim another 1-2K worth of work...the price differences would have paid for themselves.Of coarse this is only my experience and can't guarantee that your dealership/warranty will be as good....but just another point of view to consider P.S. my dealer even said I can mod till my hearts content....as technically they still get paid the labour competent of the job, so at the end of the day it's still money in their pocket....kinda hoping my turbo will go bang soon....cause then I can order a GTX (or any turbo from the Garrett range) and can claim the first 2K under warranty...but not banking on that as I have been running the earls inline for a while...but you never know Edited 30/09/14 09:27 AM by PTR_NITRO_FG
