Retubing is your friend

and get it re-balanced.

That place (whoever it was) did a good job on mine.

In fact, it's about the only farken thing on my car that doesn't vibrate

How many have let go at a uni compared to how many twist the shaft apart.

Go and grab an empty toilet roll and tear it - following the join - and that is sort of what a shaft can end up looking like when it twists.

Half shafts would let go before a uni ..... wouldn't they?

A heap of the GT guys are having a lot of good experiences with the carbon fibre tailshafts from the driveshaft shop. I know of a few guys who had bad vibrations with retubed tailshafts and then changed to the CF one and vibrations gone and all is good and right in the world again.
