Hi Peter .... I've a few quick questions for you.

1 : Just wondering whether you've encountered any idle and or stalling problems with any of your XR6T test cars over the past 12 months?

2 : Have your had issue's with the power steering shuddering whilst doing slow speeds turns eg parking ?

3 : Do you have any drama's with the auto shifting quality when you do your stage II or III kits? I've friends of whom have XEDE Chiptorque kits in their cars and the 2nd to 3rd shift is not consistant or without problems in any of them and alas I also notice OWNA's auto with a UNICHIP Stage II TOO has problems in the auto problems thread!!!

Would love too upgrade my auto T when your stage III kit is available in March with the plug in loom ... hope all the auto gearbox issues are resolved by then?

:o

IM2QIK, I have been quite busy here's the answers you requested.

1 ) I dont recall seeing any stalling problems on the APS engineering cars, though I have read some members have had stalling problems.

2) yes I have felt the shuddering in the steering, most likely air in the system would be worth having the ford dealer check it for you.

3) we have the auto trans upgrade working really well at the phase II power level and we are working on the upgrade for the phase III power level now. Should have more infomation on this topic in 4 weeks time.

We did not work on OWNAS car so I am not in a position to make any comment on his auto problem, though I know that C and V in Sydney are involved in that project and are working to sort out that auto. :kissmy:

Sorry frank, I have very busy and I will PM you soon. The redline oil is excellent and a very worthwhile investment for the engine and complete drivetrain. :kissmy::kiss: :o

Thanks for your reply Peter,

Am really excited at the March release of the stage III kits ... do you know of the retail pricing as yet or is that to be finalised?

Can you GUARANTEE that the Stage II kits presently marketed in auto form do the 2nd to 3rd upshifts in drive under full throttle cleanly and consistantly every time?

From what I've seen all the modded auto cars have drama's with the 2nd to 3rd upshift under full throttle in drive .... part throttle upshifts despite which gear all seem fine which is strange?

Also I've heard and read on here that the auto's shift fine initially (a few days or a week) when modified .... then the Ford ECM starts poor quality shifts under full throttle in 2nd to 3rd upshift situations in drive!

If you can guarantee that the UNICHIP doesnt upset the auto's shift parameters you've got my business... :gooff::ta:

The phase III system installed and tuned is $9648 including Gst.

In addition we recommend the fitment of better valve springs ($600) and the cost of the auto uograde is yet to be finalised.

Its best to have the auto trans upgrade preformed when installing the phase II system (cost $600), though we have done a number of cars at phase II level without the trans upgrade and to date all seems well.

I have UNICHIP computers ( only) on a large numbers of xr6t vehicles and I do not know of one a car which has an auto problem as of now.

that's not to say that we will never see a auto problem at phase I power level and It would be benefical for the owner if the auto upgrade was done at the same time as the unichip install, if the owner can afford the cost. :gooff:

Peter is there a typo here or am I misunderstanding your comments?

You say the cost of the valve springs is $600, and the auto upgrade is not yet finalised. Then in the next paragraph you say the auto trans upgrade is $600. :ta:

Sorry if I confusd you. :(

The auto upgrade for the phase II system is finished ( I hope ) and is $600 inc GST, though we have not completed the auto upgrade for the phase III system we hope this will be finished within the next month.

I trust this clarafies the issue for the auto upgrade, its a time consuming project though we are making progress.

Is the upgrade you suggest for the phase 1 the same upgrade as for the phase 2?
