1000Cc Injectors, Can I Drive To The Tuners?

Is the reason it wont start on 1000cc because it is flooding essentially?

The cranking maps are open loop that's why, but normally even if it is massively rich/lean it will still eventually start, it will just take ages, then the closed loop kicks in and sorts things out.

going off memory here but stock injectors are 28lb/hr, 1000c EV14's are aprox 95lb/hr

Stock closed loop is good for aprox +/- 25% so 28+25% = 35lb/hr at max trim.

For the stock system to trim a set of 1000cc EV14's it would need aprox 380% +/-fuel trim available.

In simpler term a set of ID1000's running stock hi and lo slopes and stock fuel pressure would deliver aprox 3.8 times more fuel mass than stock injectors

(NB simple terms only and ignoring other factors such as voltage and pressure offsets, breakpoint and min pulse width)

Interesting so the closed loop will only trim a max of 25%?

I wonder why it is limited, I know other implementations will just trim forever and just raise an alarm (check engine light etc) if it has to trim excessively.

If your trimming more than 25% your well out of the relm of practicality for what an ecu SHOULD be required to do

Why even calibrate ? Just fit hardware and let the ecu "trim" everything everywhere

Lol - if the ECU's were that smart we wouldn't need tuners at all - chuck in whatever hodge podge of mods we wanted and let the computer fix itself up to suit

Absolutely, some cars run widebands from the factory and do this. I guess my point is there is no harm in not limiting it, so why put a limit in place?

The issue is trimming has lag time, so an open loop tune is obviously better, I'm just asking purely from a point of curiosity. There are ECU packages that offer auto tune though, where you put in desired afr at all the load points and it will tune the cell to suit, pretty cool providing you give it some half decent numbers to start with.
