The in car economy reader is no where near accurate. I reset mine when I filled up and I done 110 kay's then filled up again and had used 26 litres of eflex. And the in car reader said I was doing 17l per hundred. It's not accurate.

When I was on 98 and 42lb injectors I thought the same. I'm guessing when I'm under full throttle now it goes above what it can read and that's when it uses the fuel.

I think its relatively accurate if you are on closed loop all the time.

The O2 sensor gives it a reference point where it can calculate the fuel quite well.

However if you are on open loop WOT then it could be off by quite a bit I would think.

In regards to the Cat Control affecting fuel economy. These can be disabled and I will do a back to back to see how much it affects fuel economy.
